Statement

My art is a refined and fragile expression of transience, desire, violence, and alienation, inspired by the overwhelming and sometimes bizarre aspects of nature. Nature, which defines the boundaries of our existence, fascinates me. My work is a response to how deeply we, as humans, have become alienated from our natural environment.

I integrate my observations of nature—both from my immediate surroundings and from countries such as the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Japan—with cultural traditions, poetry, and philosophy. In my work, I use traditional Japanese materials such as beads, paper thread, and seaweed yarn, in combination with modern techniques like laser cutting and glassblowing. This results in art that explores the fragility and beauty of impermanence and reflects our estrangement from the natural world.

Materials & Techniques
I am fascinated by traditional materials, techniques, and folk traditions from various cultures, which I incorporate into my work. However, I wouldn’t describe my art as "craft-based"—that label doesn’t suit me. I work more freely and apply techniques in my own way. The craftsmanship is not the goal in itself.
